6 ELEV8 Alumni get drafted into the NLL

Philadelphia, PA – September 17, 2019 – The 2019 National Lacrosse League Draft held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has concluded and 6 ELEV8 ELITE Alumni have been picked up by 4 different organizations.

The action for the alumni kicked off in the second round with Brett Craig being selected 26th overall to the Colorado Mammoth. Craig played for the ELEV8 ELITE program as a long-pole playing both long stick midfield and close defense. He played his collegiate lacrosse for Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania where he accumulated 3 USILA All-American nods. This past summer, he played on the Maple Ridge Burrards in the WLA as a force on the defensive side of the floor.

In round 3 with the 39th overall selection, the Colorado Mammoth received another ELEV8 ELITE Alum in Dylan Kinnear. Kinnear was a member of the ELEV8 ELITE program before heading off to compete in NCAA Division I Lacrosse at Ohio State University and Towson University. This past summer, Kinnear notched 22 goals and 9 assists for the Langley Thunder competing in the WLA.

The 4th round sent ELEV8 ELITE Alum Derek Lloyd to the Vancouver Warriors. Lloyd was a member of the program before playing his collegiate lacrosse for Stony Brook University competing in the NCAA Division I. As a member of the Victoria Shamrocks this past summer, Lloyd helped the team reach the Mann Cup in the Western Lacrosse Association.

In the 5th round, Cordell Hastings went 76th overall to the Calgary Roughnecks. Hastings competed with the ELEV8 ELITE Program as a dynamic midfielder and lead the Calgary Jr. B Shamrocks to a Founder’s Cup Title in 2019. 

Round 6 sent the Getz brothers to two different Canadian organizations. With the 85th overall selection, the Saskatchewan Rush scooped up Jordan Getz. The Calgary Roughnecks had the 89th pick of the draft and picked up Travis Getz. Both brothers played for the ELEV8 ELITE Program as offensive threats.
